A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there was a comic convention that would transform Lexington into a pop culture haven. That’s right, Lexington Comic & Toy Convention returns to Central Bank Center next Thursday, March 7 through Sunday, March 10. Keep reading — you might just be able to meet the mayor of Pawnee, IN.

Arriving

You’ve purchased your tickets and are putting the final touches on your costumes. Now, it’s time for the big day. Before arriving to 430 W. Vine St., you’ll want to make sure you’ve read through the event’s policies, which covers proper costume protocols (yeah, don’t bring weapons or show up barefoot).

Parking will be available at Central Bank Center itself, but there are multiple other parking garages within walking distance too.

The celebrities

In order to have the know-how before meeting your heroes, here’s a few tips so you don’t end up looking like a total Jerry/Larry/Terry Gergich (but if you see Jim O’ Heir, tell him we said hi.)

  • Photo op tickets are available for purchase ahead of the event, but these are not meet + greets and move fast.
  • If you want a moment to chat with the guest, it’s suggested to opt for an autograph.
  • You can line up 30 minutes prior to your scheduled photo/autograph reservation.

The experiences

Each day of the convention is chock full of events. Whether you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons, or just need a dance break, there’s something fun for everyone.

Other unique experiences include:

  • A cosplay contest
  • DJ sets
  • Hundreds of vendors to shop from
  • Q+A panels featuring guests like Priscilla Presley and James Van Der Beek (good luck not humming the Dawson’s Creek theme).

Remaining tickets can be purchased now.
