Crystal Wilkinson kicks off nationwide book tour tonight at Joseph-Beth Booksellers

This is your chance to meet award-winning author Crystal Wilkinson as she begins her nationwide tour for her new book, “Praisesong of the Kitchen Ghosts.”

Local award-winning author Crystal Wilkinson will kick off the nationwide book tour for her latest work with a discussion + signing at Joseph-Beth Booksellers tonight at 7 p.m.

“Praisesong for the Kitchen Ghosts: Stories and Recipes from Five Generations of Black Country Cooks” honors the heritage of Black Appalachian kitchens through Wilkinson’s own family. Readers will be treated to 30+ family recipes including: caramel cake, basket meeting green beans with new potatoes, hot milk cake + chicken and dumplings.

“I’m really excited to begin this national tour here at home,” said Wilkinson. “What better way to celebrate such a personal book than to begin here in Lexington? I’m looking forward to seeing readers, family, and friends.”
