Lexington Sporting Club owner Bill Shivley and his wife Donna have announced that the club will be part of the USL Super League launch in 2024, officially bringing professional women’s soccer to the region.
This opportunity will create a fully-realized pathway for athletes including the youth-focused USL Academy team , the pre-professional USL W League (which is currently in season), all the way to the Super League.
The USL Super League intends to expand nationally in the future. For now, Lexington will join ~10 other teams for the inaugural season, including Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, Phoenix, Spokane, Tampa, Tucson, and Washington D.C.
