Celebrate native plants at the 2024 Wildflower Weekend

Learn about surrounding plant life with the Kentucky Native Plant Society’s 2024 Wildflower Weekend.

If you belong among the wildflowers, then this one’s for you. This weekend marks the 35th anniversary of Wildflower Weekend , a celebration of botanical appreciation + education, courtesy of the Kentucky Native Plant Society (KNPS).

Taking place Friday, April 12-Sunday, April 14 at Natural Bridge State Resort Park, the weekend will host a variety of guided walks, hikes, workshops, and talks open to the public of all ages. Check the schedule to secure your spot for available excursions.

  • Birding for Beginners
  • Moss and Fern Hike
  • “Reflecting on Nature through Artmaking” Workshop

If you can’t make it out to the Red River Gorge, join the fun with KNPS’s community science event BotanyBlitz . First, sign up through iNaturalist . Once registered, search “KNPS” + select “KNPS Wildflower Week 2024 Botany Blitz” to join. Then, visit a local park or natural area, and snap a photo of your plant findings.
