As if traffic on Limestone + Nicholasville Road didn’t already drive you wild — it’s about to get a little more challenging.

In order to prepare for construction of the new eight-story, 550,000-sqft cancer and advanced ambulatory facility + parking garage, major roadwork will take place on surrounding streets.

Beginning in April, expect the following traffic delays:

  • Elizabeth Street will close to thru traffic
  • State Street + University Avenue will close from Elizabeth Street to South Limestone
  • A fence will go up, prohibiting pedestrian traffic

When the work is completed, estimated around September 2025, this is what things will look like:

  • A continuous four-lane road with a turning lane from Waller Avenue to Transcript Avenue
  • Two lanes from Transcript Avenue to Virginia Avenue
  • Overhead utility lines moved underground

Keep in mind, the work will be reconfiguring and revising the roads as they are currently placed.
