Understanding Fayette County School’s District Facility Plan

On June 26, the Fayette County School Board released a recommended timeline for proposed improvements to some of our local public schools. Let’s break them down, shall we?

Phase 1 (Fall 2023)

  • $41 million for a new elementary school in Masterson Station
  • $57 million for a new Rise STEM Academy for Girls
  • $146 million for a new Henry Clay High School

Phase 2 (Fall 2024)

  • $11 million for Liberty Road bus garage renovations
  • $41 million for new Polo Club elementary school
  • $108 million for Paul Laurence Dunbar High School renovations

Phase 3 (Fall 2025)

  • $39 million for Southern Middle School renovations
  • $41 million for Winburn Middle School renovations
  • $45 million for Beaumont Middle School renovations

There is also an additional $15 million planned for maintenance projects across various schools.
