The Lexington Bluegrass Fair is 11 days of uninterrupted fun in the Kentucky sun.

It’s the perfect time to eat something fried, jump on a ride + experience the thrill of something you’ve never tried.

The event runs June 5-15 in Masterson Station Park — here are a few recommendations if you’re looking to have a fair great time.

Cheer the swine to the finish line
Squeal in delight as pot-bellied pigs race for a cookie — which typically takes only a matter of seconds. Post times are nightly at 6 p.m. + 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The races are free with general admission to the fair.

DIY Funnel Dog
You won’t find it on any menu, but our take on the classic Korean corn dog is easy to assemble. Just roll a corn dog inside a funnel cake, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Now remove that stick and dip it in your favorite condiment. Pro tip: Pairs best with honey mustard + a fistful of napkins.

The fair is also known for its broad selection of Latin food.

Free fall from 90 feet
The Atmosfear is the tallest, fastest + most intense ride on the midway. You’ll experience negative G-forces as it shoots you into the air, followed by a white-knuckle free fall from 90 feet — roughly the height of this 250-year-old American basswood by Henry Clay’s monument in the Lexington Cemetery.
