UK’s Board of Trustees is expected to approve renovations for Kroger Field.

The $7 million, privately-funded project, which was approved by the Kentucky General Assembly in 2022, will see updates to the stadium’s ribbon boards (where you often see live scores + statistics) and lighting.

According to a letter from UK President Eli Capilouto’s office, the ribbon boards surrounding the bowl’s interior were installed in 2011 and “have exceeded their useful life.” Improvements aim to create a better, more modern attendee experience.
