Last week we told you about the purchase of the Distillery District rickhouse by U-Haul. And with that news, we also learned that Battle Axes is planning on moving + expanding to a new space just a hatchet’s throw away — Turner Commons.
Tucked down a hill at 1301 W. Main St., Turner Commons doesn’t look like much yet — just a one-mile stretch of concrete and old tobacco warehouses. But what lies ahead for this area is anything but gray and bland. Turner Property
— the developer behind the project — has plans for a bustling new Lexington staple.
Currently, the group is repurposing the warehouses at the back of the property that were once used to hold tobacco. They have plans to break ground on a brand new building at the end of this month.
The concept master plan for the future includes restaurants, office space + a greenspace with an adjacent walking path. The group wants businesses and visitors to come, play, and stay. So look out Lexington, more fun is on the way.
