It’s almost time to ring in 2022. But before we ice down the champagne, we want to raise our glasses to the progress our awesome city has made in 2021.

In 2021, several improvements + major developments took place in Lexington.

And while we all know that Lexington is a great place to live, work + play — we also realize that there’s always room for improvements. That’s why we opened up the floor to you — our wonderful readers.

In several previous newsletters, we asked you what you wanted to see Lexington improve upon in 2022. It’s clear that LEXtoday readers are thinking clean + green for 2022

  • Reader Terence H. wants to see “residential weekly paper recycling reinstated.”
  • “There needs to be better crosstown public transit, not just from the downtown hub.” — Reader B. Kemp
  • Reader Gretchen V. would like our city to “improve the walkability to basic shopping and amenities.”
  • “I want to downsize and move downtown, but there aren’t enough town home options downtown.” — Reader Laura B.
  • Reader Blake H. wants “more bike + pedestrian infrastructure.” He also shared this cool website of all the parking available downtown.

Thanks to all our readers that wrote to us with their thoughts on how Lexington can improve in 2022. I personally am looking forward to Lexington’s new parks + greenspace commitment.

Happy New Year’s Eve, Lexington. 🎉
