After some time of bringing you LEXtoday, we thought we should formally introduce ourselves. Consider this us going in for a fist bump, then switching to a handshake, then settling on a hug.
🙌 Meet Molly
Q: What were the last 3 things you did downtown?
A: I took a Rosé + Candle-Making class at The Melodeon and then went to dinner at ItalX. I also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at McCarthy’s with a Magner’s and the best bartender Oisín + snacking on my favorite candy from Fáilte.
Q: Describe LEX’s personality in three words.
A: Welcoming, loyal, easygoing
Q: True or False: The Arboretum is the best?
A: True. Located in the heart of Lexington (and campus), the Arboretum offers 100 acres of gardens and native plant life for a refreshing break from the city. Bonus: They have a two-mile walking path that’s perfect for a jaunt with your pup. It’s Ziggy approved.
🤘 Meet Aayat
Q: Fill in the blank: The coolest person I’ve met in LEX is ___________.
A: Imagine me meandering through my local grocery store when from afar I see the one and only Oscar Tshiebwe. He was nice as can be and more than happy to take photos with me and my husband.
Q: You can only choose one local restaurant menu to bring with you to a deserted island — which one is it + why?
A: Lexington is lucky to have multiple Arabic food options, but my favorite goes to Oasis Mediterranean in Chevy Chase. Don’t forget to grab a spinach pie with your lunch.
Q: In your opinion, what is LEX’s unofficial mascot?
A: It depends on the season, but I’m going to say a burning couch. Disclaimer: We at LEXtoday do not condone the burning of furniture. Sorry to be buzzkills.
