In an effort to remove barriers to its educational resources, all branches of the Lexington Public Library will no longer charge fines or fees, effective immediately. This includes fines for late, lost, or damaged materials. While there are no more fees, loan periods + item allowances will still apply.

Fayette County Public Schools is seeking the community’s input in naming the new 171,893-sqft middle school at 2185 Polo Club Blvd. The building “will promote exploration, collaboration, and innovation” + is expected to be completed in June 2025. Submit your thoughts here. (LEX18)

Virginia Bell, a leader in the global dementia care community, died at the age of 100 last weekend. She was a graduate of Transylvania, a regular at the High Street YMCA + helped launch Dementia Friendly Lexington. (Lexington Herald-Leader)

Jessamine County has been mentioned as another possibility for the Lexington Sporting Club complex, which would include the stadium, a hotel, a restaurant, retail, and housing. There will be a public hearing on Tuesday, April 25 at 5 p.m. on the zone change of the latest proposal at Athens-Boonesboro Road. (WKYT)
Transylvania University is hosting the NCAA DIII men’s golf tournament on Sunday, May 14-Friday, May 19 at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville. Sign up to volunteer for a variety of positions including shuttle drivers, spotters, and hospitality runners. (1780)
