Loud and proud 🌈

Lexington Pride is back and prouder than ever. From June 1-30, the city will be rocking rainbows and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. If you want to keep up with all the pride around LEX this month, we’ve got the rundown on everything you need to know.

City Government

The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) recently launched a new city-wide campaignLexProud. The campaign + its website serve as a resource for city-wide LGBTQ+ information.

Fun fact: In 2021, Lexington received the highest achievable score on the Human Rights Campaign Municipal Equality Index — 100/100.

2022 Pride month in Lexington is also extra exciting because this is the first year that the city will have a booth at the Lexington Pride Festival. City officials will be there encouraging attendees to get involved with city boards + handing out LexProud swag.

Lexington Pride Festival

The festival will take place on Sat., June 25 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza, 120 N. Limestone. The event is hosted by The Lexington Pride Center, a nonprofit organization that supports the LGBTQ+ community. While this event does serve as a celebratory party, it’s also a day to remember, work towards change, connect + learn.

Pride Block Party

Tonight, Greyline Station — a public market located at 101 W. Loudon Ave. — will host its Pride Block Party from 5-9 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join this party that features 30+ local vendors, music, bounce houses + plenty of food and drinks.

How to get involved

We love a party, but Pride is also prime time to give back. Celebrate by volunteering with Lexington Pride Center or with a donation.

Editor’s note: We’ll keep you updated as more Pride events pop up throughout the month, or you can send events our way if you know of some.
