If you haven’t seen them yet, the cherry blossoms in the Lexington Cemetery are in full bloom. The grounds are open daily from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for you to visit these beautiful trees.

This is easily one of the prettiest spring spots in the city + and that got us thinking — “Where are some other places to experience spring blooms + wildflowers?”

Hisle Farm Park , 3551 Briar Hill Rd.

This park features 280 acres of rolling hills + pastures. There are two trail options — a one-mile and 2.5-mile trail.

Flora: goldenrod, milkweed + Queen Anne’s lace

Pro tip: There isn’t much shade on these open pasture trails. It is best to hike in early-mid spring.

Raven Run Nature Sanctuary , 3885 Raven Run Wy.

Raven Run is the hiking gem of Fayette County, boasting 10 miles of hiking trails across 734 acres.

Flora: If heading out for wildflower viewings, look to hike the Yellow Trail — also known as the flower bowl. Be on the lookout for Blue-eyed Mary, trillium, lilies + wild hyacinth.

Pro tip: This place can get busy + the parking lot can fill up. Join this Facebook group for park updates.

Floracliff Nature Sanctuary , 8000 Elk Lick Falls Rd.

Floracliff is a 346-acre nonprofit nature preserve that is only open for guided hikes + events.

Flora: Virginia bluebells, pink lady’s slipper, bloodroot + saxifrage

Pro tip: Check this events page for upcoming wildflower hikes or schedule a private tour .

The Arboretum - State Botanical Garden of Kentucky , 500 Alumni Dr.

The Arboretum is a 100-acre public garden that showcases native + horticultural plant collections.

Fauna + Flora: The garden showcases plants from all seven physiographic regions of Kentucky .

Pro tip: Garden guests are required to stay on paved + mowed pathways at all times.
