We know what you’re probably thinking, “Why are we talking about summer camp when we haven’t even gotten to spring break yet?”

Well, it’s never too early to get a head start on summer plans for the kiddos. In fact, some spots are already on a waitlist. We’ve rounded up 10 local summer camps + programs for children of all ages to enjoy.

🎨 Art

ARTPlay , 309 N. Ashland Ave., Ste. #190
A colorful summer awaits with the play-based approach at ARTplay. Its themed camps will explore fashion design, creative clay, and artist showcase.

Living Arts & Science Center , 362 N. Martin Luther King Blvd.
LASC offers a wide variety of camps (even with options for the high schoolers) all summer long. With subjects like music + dance, cooking, ceramics, and wildlife biology, your children are sure to keep the learning going even outside the traditional classroom. Sessions vary and start at ~$260.

CREATE Art + Play , 212 Woodland Ave.
Let the kids get crafty this summer. The week-long, half-day sessions will explore art through themes like animal adventures, ocean explorers, mad scientists + more.

🌳 Outdoors

Evergreen Nature School , Various locations around Lexington
Kiddos ages 3-12 will love being outside learning survival skills, feathered friends, plant identification + more in these nature-themed exploration camps.
Eight sessions available and the prices start at $195.

Bar Y Adventure Camp , 5757 Versailles Rd.
Outdoor adventures await at this week-long day camp for kids ages 8-12. Campers will build self-confidence + leadership skills through activities such as challenge courses, fort building, and more.
Ten sessions available and the cost starts at $238.50.

Lexington Parks & Recreation , locations vary
From arts and archery, to golf and dance, there’s a camp for everyone courtesy of our city’s Parks & Rec department. There’s even an option for those 18+ to feel like a kid again at the Adult Sorta Summer Camp.
Multiple sessions available + the cost starts at $65.

🎽 Athletics

UK Football Camp , Joe Craft Football Training Facility, 295 Alumni Dr.
Camps will take place throughout June with options for players of all ages — including position-specific, fundamentals, and day camps. Bonus: Campers can get a picture with Head Coach Mark Stoops. Walk-up registration will be available + prices start at $50.

Frederick Douglass Youth Soccer , 2000 Winchester Rd.
Frederick Douglass High School is inviting girls + boys in grades K-6 for this all-skill-sets soccer camp led by the team’s coaches. The sessions run 6-8:30 p.m., Monday, June 10-Thursday, June 13.
Early bird registration is $115 through Sunday, April 14.

UK Gymnastics ,1401 Sports Center Dr.
Your athlete will get the opportunity to work with the top-ranked coaching staff at UK in the state-of-the-art Nutter Field House Gymnasium. Camps are open to female gymnasts of all skill levels, ages 6-18.
Three sessions available + prices start at $595.

🏕️ Sleep away

J.M. Feltner 4-H Camp , 380 J. M. Feltner Rd., London, KY
Nestled along scenic foothills near the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Levi Jackson Parks, this 4-H Camp gets kids active with archery, riflery, hiking, swimming, and more. Fayette County campers ages 9-18 will hit the park from Monday, July 22-Friday, July 26.

Cathedral Domain , 830 Highway 1746, Irvine
Cathedral Domain has been a summer staple for Lexingtonians for 100+ years. There are a variety of camps offerings — three-night and six-night options — for all ages, with campers organized by grade level.
