Tell your tale with StoryCorps

Bring a friend or loved one to Woodland Park and tell your tale to StoryCorps for the chance to be featured on WUKY.

As part of Lexington’s 250th anniversary, StoryCorps, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving personal stories, is bringing its mobile tour to Woodland Park from Thursday, March 20 to Wednesday, April 16.

Coined the MobileBooth, StoryCorps has converted an Airstream trailer into a mobile recording studio, visiting cities + recording stories. During its stop, Lexingtonians will have the opportunity to share a 40-minute conversation with a loved one or friend, guided by a trained facilitator.

These heartfelt discussions explore life experiences, lessons learned, and personal legacies. Interviews can be recorded in-person or virtually via StoryCorps’ online platform. Each participant will receive a digital copy, with the option to archive their story for future generations.

StoryCorps’ mission is to celebrate the beauty and resilience of everyday lives, reminding us of our shared humanity. WUKY, Lexington’s NPR affiliate, will air select stories, with a chance to have your story shared nationally. Don’t miss this chance to add your voice to history.
