Where to eat for Lexington Vegan Week

Plant lovers rejoice, Lexington Vegan Week is upon us. From now until Sun., Jan. 9 stop into any of the 18 participating restaurants to get their ~$10 Vegan Week Specials.

The idea came to fruition last year when Sarabeth Brownrobie wanted a way to celebrate + support the talents of local chefs. She said that often when going out to eat, vegans have limited options to choose from. Having a week dedicated to vegan options helps those who follow a plant-based lifestyle, dine with ease.

We’re listing out eight local spots participating in Lexington Vegan Week below, but the full list can be found here.

Broomwagon, 800 N. Limestone
The bike + coffee shop combo is offering diners a mushroom Philly French dip.

Girlsgirlsgirls Burritos, 395 S. Limestone St.
They have many vegan options but the special for this week is a Thai peanut bowl entree with various side dishes + dessert.

Smithtown Seafood, 501 W. Sixth St.
Swing by to sip on some seasonal root veggie curry stew.

Bourbon n’ Toulouse, 829 Euclid Ave.
The Chevy Chase staple is serving up a jackfruit bbq sandwich with vegan coleslaw + your choice of tofu creole or black beans and rice.

Sav’s, 630 E. Main St.
Stop in for the vegan fataya — a fried pastry shell filled with beans + vegetables. Pro tip: Check out its selection of sorbet to satisfy the sweet tooth.
