Looking for an opportunity to get more involved in your community? The YMCA of Central KY offers several education + enrichment programs supported by volunteers, like the Black Achievers program.

Celebrating nearly 40 years of service, this program provides educational opportunities for students (rising 6-12th grade) from historically marginalized backgrounds.

Designed to create equity in education and the workforce, the program is a multicultural experience that inspires youth to pursue higher education, set career goals, and become future local + global leaders.

Through regular meetings, field trips, mentorship, and community service, program participants gain exposure to:

  • Academic support + opportunities for higher education
  • Career opportunities in fields like arts, media, entrepreneurship, engineering, health services, and education
  • Life and social skills

Mark your calendars: The first meeting of the 2024-2025 year will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24.
