Next week, school is back in session for two of Lexington’s universities — UK + Transylvania. To help give the Wildcats and Pioneers a warm welcome back to school, we asked our readers to share some pieces of advice + pro tips.

Here’s what some of y’all had to say —

  • “Speak to your professors and go to office hours...build those connections.” — Addison C., UK 2021
  • “Go to class, make your lifelong friends and have ALL the fun!” — Andrea Q., Transy 2001
  • “Get plugged into a community — a campus ministry, a club, a fraternity — life works better in community.” — Jenny S., UK 2006
  • “If the wind changes… allow yourself to adjust the sails.” — Anonymous, UK 2021
  • “Check out our City Guides for ideas on all the places to take a walk, find a happy hour, or spend time with your pup.” — Molly + Aayat

Family members, be sure to share this article with your incoming + returning college students.
