On select nights during the next three months, an office building in downtown Lexington will be converted into a jazz hall — bringing world-class jazz musicians to Main Street.

Lexington’s Origins Jazz Series kicks off on Sun., Feb 20 at Base249, 249 E. Main St. — an office building + coworking space downtown.

Today, we’re previewing the artists who will be performing at the concert series + giving you the details so you can join in on the jive.

Parking | Free parking is available after 5 p.m. in the Base249 parking lot.

Admission | Performances are ticketed + all ages are welcome

Food + Drink | Base249 has a bar where beer, wine + bourbon will be served to attendees 21 and over.

Artists

Premium Blend | Sun., Feb. 20 | 6 p.m. | $20

This Indianapolis-based band prides themselves on being both musicians + improv artists — blending smooth saxophone sounds with guitar, keys, and drums.

Kemba Cofield | Tues., Mar. 1 | 7 p.m. | $10

Kemba is both a vocalist + a storyteller from Frankfort, KY — integrating heartfelt messaging into every song. Her vocal style is reminiscent of Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald.

Brooks Giles | Sun., Mar. 13 | 6 p.m. | $20

Brooks is a Kentucky-based saxophonist + vocalist who spent many years honing his craft in NYC jazz clubs.

Joshua Espinoza | Fri., Apr. 1 | 7 :30 p.m. | $20

The accomplished pianist, composer + former Morehead State professor is bringing his jazz trio back to his home region.

Angie Coyle | Tues., Apr. 5 | 7 p.m. | $10

The Cincinnati-based saxophonist + composer just released her exciting debut album called Far From Home + it contains all original compositions.

Kirby Davis | Tues., May 3 | 7 p.m. | $10

Kirby is an accomplished saxophonist + known as one of the youngest stars in Lexington’s jazz scene.
