If you were to scroll through our social media, you would see Lexingtonians have opinions. Opinions on roads, development, and grocery stores, to name a few. Well, city officials + our public transportation system want to hear those opinions. Here are three upcoming opportunities for you to make your voice heard — in person.

New Circle Road Widening Project

On Thursday, March 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. join the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet at the Lexington Senior Center for a public information meeting about the widening of New Circle Road. The area being discussed runs from Trade Center Drive to Woodhill Drive.

Before you go to share your voice, refresh yourself on Imagine New Circle + take a closer look at the corridor study to see examples of designs for streetscape improvement, housing opportunities, and commercial development.

Preservation & Growth Management Program

Vice Mayor Dan Wu and other members of the Urban County Council are hosting two public engagement opportunities to introduce the newly created Preservation & Growth Management Program. Created in response to Imagine 2045’s goal of creating urban and rural balance, the group will help guide decision making for the recently expanded urban service area.

On Sunday, March 16 from 2 to 3 p.m., head to the Marksbury Family Branch of the Lexington Public Library to learn more about the history of the Urban Service Boundary, and speak directly with councilmembers + LFUCG staff about goals of the program.

Paratransit listening sessions

On Monday, March 17, 1 p.m. at Christian Towers, Lextran will host the first of four public listening sessions focused on its paratransit service, Lextran Wheels. Here, community members are encouraged to share their experiences using the service.
